Description

The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs is a state agency dedicated to empowering veterans, as well as their dependents and survivors. The agency helps veterans navigate the complex veteran support system and assists them in obtaining benefits; provides long term health care for eligible veterans at five Veterans’ Homes; and works with other government agencies and non-profits to help veterans address education, mental health, housing, employment, and other challenges.
