Eligibility
Children under 22 who are most often dependent on medical technology, such as ventilators, feeding tubes, or central lines. Child must be clinically stable and cannot require continuous one-on-one care or supervision.

-Congenital central hypoventilation syndrome
-Metabolic disorders
-Cerebral palsy
-Spina bifida
-Chromosomal disorders
-Cardiac anomalies
-Traumatic brain & spinal cord injury
-Gastric anomalies, including Short gut syndrome

Almost Home Kids at OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois provides care to children under 22 who are most often dependent on medical technology, such as ventilators, feeding tubes, or central lines. Respite care offers families a period of rest from one to 14 days. In addition, transitional care is offered for children with medical complexities who are medically stable and ready to leave the hospital, but whose families need some extra time to make preparations for their child's return home.
