-The child must be 18 years of age or younger -The child must be under the care of a pediatrician -The case must involve a child with a specific health care need -The request must be clinically relevant to the health of the child -The requested expenses must not be covered or denied by the existing insurance provider

First Hand Foundation is a public 501(c)(3) organization that provides funding for individual children—both domestically and globally—who need assistance with clinical necessities (such as surgery, medication and therapy), medical equipment and travel related to care. Expenses covered: *Treatment: Clinical procedures, medicine, dental care, therapy, prosthesis, service dogs, etc. *Equipment: Wheelchairs, movable ramps & stair lifts, assistive technology equipment, care devices, hearing aids, feeding equipment, etc. *Medical-related travel and lodging costs *Vehicle modifications: Lifts, ramps and transfer boards --------------------------------------------------------------- Expenses not covered: *Medical bills, reimbursements, emotional support animals, alternative/experimental treatments, or education-related therapies/expenses. *Permanent housing modifications
