Eligibility

Primarily students ages 3 to 21, from preschool through the 12th grade. There is also a program for infants and toddlers in the surrounding area who are deaf or hard of hearing. In addition, the ISD serves adult clients of the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) who are deaf and hard of hearing, and referred by their rehabilitation counselors

The Illinois School for the Deaf offers residential programming for students who are deaf or hard of hearing and live more than 25 miles from Jacksonville, and day programming for students who live within 25 miles of Jacksonville. In addition to comprehensive assessment, enrichment, intervention, and educational services for school-age residents of Illinois who are deaf and hard of hearing, the ISD also serves adult clients of the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) who are deaf and hard of hearing, and referred by their rehabilitation counselors.
