The Peoria County Family Justice Center offers a multi-disciplinary response team designed to provide services and support to victims of domestic violence, while simultaneously holding offenders accountable. The Peoria County Family Justice Center is a secure location which provides a play area for children to use, while being watched over, as clients meet with personnel. Services/areas of assistance include the following: -Safety planning or assistance with safe shelter -Obtaining an Order of Protection -Emotional support -Filing a police report -Reporting a violation regarding an offender who is in treatment and/or on probation -Referrals or Advocacy to the State's Attorney's Office regarding prosecution and information regarding a pending criminal case -Seeking transitional services to assist in leaving an abusive relationship -Receiving education and information related to Domestic Violence, including Lethality Assessments -Providing additional evidence in a criminal case -Medical advocacy -Referrals to community resources -Obtaining a 911 cell phone -Bus passes or Parking deck stickers -Children's services through Peoria's Children -Court Advocacy in criminal or civil proceedings -VESSA or Safe Homes Act information or advocacy -Attorney General Victims Crime Compensation assistance
