Eligibility

1. Applicant (both loans and grants) must reside in a rural area with a population of less than 35,000. You can check your address on this site: Property Eligibility Tool 2. Applicant (both loans and grants) must be the homeowner and occupy the house. 3. Applicant (both loans and grants) must be unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere. 4. Applicant (both loans and grants) must have a household income that does not exceed the very low limit by county (please call or visit this site: https://www.rd.usda.gov/sites/default/files/RD-DirectLimitMap.pdf) 5. For grants, applicant must be age 62 or older
