The Peoria Friendship House is a faith-based organization reaching out to all those in need, regardless of faith. Core programs include- *Financial Stability Program The purpose of the Financial Stability program is to help participants to increase their revenue while decreasing their expenses, thus helping them to improve their quality of life. This is a case management program that provides financial, credit and employment education, training, coaching and mentorship while providing basic needs like food, clothing, transportation, healthcare, and hygiene products. *Citizenship Classes Includes assistance with application process & Individual Attention/Support. Completely free. *La Familia La Familia Program that strives to restore dignity and protect our local Latino community by providing culturally responsive and healing support across the lifespan, from children to seniors. *S.T.E.A.M.S Academy An after-school program for K-8th graders that focuses on increasing learning potential with a concentration on one-on-one tutoring, enrichment activities and service learning opportunities. It features the S.T.E.A.M.S curriculum, which includes First Lego League, allowing children to research, design, and build Lego Robot. The goal is that the children grow to love learning and look beyond simply passing their school courses, but dream to excel far beyond. When school is out for the summer, there is an eight-week Summer Camp program focusing on leadership development that provides four consecutive 2-week camp themes with an enriching diverse program in a fun and safe environment. The children learn about healthy living, giving back to one's community through service learning, and social and emotional well-being. *Pathway to YOUR Future Designed specifically to prepare, teach, and support high school students' transition into adulthood. The goal is to be able to provide high school students with resources to develop life skills and different course certification opportunities to increase post-grad jobs right out of high school. *Parent Mentor Program Parent Mentors volunteer in classrooms for 2 hours/day for at least 100 hours. The Parent Mentors are supported by weekly training on classroom instructional practices and leadership training. As a result, they support each other to pursue their goals and unite the school community for long-term change. *Peoria Peacekeepers The Peoria Peacekeepers Network is a referral program established by the Peoria Friendship House that focuses on using a restorative justice approach to provide juvenile offenders who have admitted to committing certain eligible offenses, misdemeanors, or felony. Juvenile offenders are given the opportunity to make restitution, connect with the community, and receive needed services and support. Peoria Friendship House works in tandem with various organizations to provide aid to juvenile offenders via referral sources such as the Peoria Police Department Station Adjustments, Peoria Public Schools discipline referrals, and Peoria County Probation Informal Supervision.

The Advocates for Access Housing Lists include a variety of apartment complexes in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, and Fulton counties. These lists are a good starting point for those seeking income-based/subsidized housing. Income-based/subsidized housing typically charges approximately 30% of a household's income (if any) in rent and includes a utility allowance to assist with energy bills. Most complexes do not require any income. Some complexes include energy in the rent. Income-based housing can either be open to the general public or targeted to specific populations. Populations for which there can be additional income-based housing opportunities are as follows: -Those age 18+ with a disabling condition (this typically could be a physical, mental, or developmental condition). Please note that often a person does NOT need to be receiving SSI or SSDI; they just must have a mental health or medical professional verify that they experience a condition (the apartment complex is not allowed to ask what the condition is). -Those age 18+ with a mobility disability (can often include heart and/or lung conditions). Please note that a person does NOT need to be receiving SSI or SSDI; they just must have a doctor verify that they experience a condition (the apartment complex is not allowed to ask what the condition is). -Those age 50+, 55+, 62+, or 65+, regardless of presence of a disabling condition. ------------------------------------ To view income-based housing options in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford and Fulton counties, please visit the link in this profile and select the county you are interested in (you may apply to housing anywhere). Then look for a "Yes" in the "Subsidized" column. If there is also a "Yes" in the "Elderly Only" column, this means that the housing site is only open to someone who is of a certain age. If the "Elderly Only" column says "Yes+mob. disability," this mean the complex is open to both people of a certain age and people who are age 18+ with a mobility disability (AND the complex might also accept people with OTHER kinds of disabling conditions, such as mental health, developmental, and other physical). Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) provides support, advocacy, and resources for victims of drunk and drug-impaired driving, as well as prevention and education services aimed at ending impaired driving. The organization's 24/7 Victim Helpline is a confidential, toll-free line that provides emotional support, information, and referrals for individuals and families impacted by drunk or drug-impaired driving crashes. Assistance can include help navigating the criminal justice system, victims’ rights, compensation options, and community-based victim services. In addition, MADD can assist in locating Victim Impact Panels, which are educational programs where victims or survivors share personal stories about the consequences of impaired driving. These are typically court-ordered for individuals convicted of DUI/DWI offenses, but may also be attended voluntarily. They are offered in many communities and sometimes available online, depending on location.

One of the focuses of the Illinois Respite Coalition (IRC) is supporting a safety net for caregivers in crisis. The IRC has Emergency Respite funding stipends for caregivers across Illinois in a planned or unplanned emergency. This program provides funding so caregivers can pay for services they choose.
