Henry County Public Transportation provides demand response (transportation by appointment), curb to curb service throughout Henry, Stark, and Western Bureau Counties. The Center for Youth and Family Solutions and AgeCentral have partnered to provide the Caregiver Support Group monthly at the Peoria North Branch Library (3001 West Grand Parkway, Peoria 61615). It is a support group for caregivers to help process the emotions that come with caregiving and allows them to connect with others who understand their challenges, share experiences, and learn strategies to care for themselves while caring for others. The Center for Youth and Family Solutions also provides presentations and resources on topics relevant to caregivers--like stress management, navigating care systems, and self-care tools.

METEC Resource Center now offers the Older Adult Home Modification Program. The modifications eligible for funding under this program are low-cost, low-barrier, yet high-impact solutions that significantly improve safety and accessibility for older adults (age 62+). Common examples of modifications include: *Grab bars and other modifications in bathrooms to reduce fall risks *Ramps for easier access to homes *Stair lifts to allow older adults to access all levels of their home *Widening doorways for wheelchair accessibility *Enhanced lighting to improve visibility in hallways and staircases *Non-slip flooring to prevent falls *Smoke/CO detectors *Security improvements *Thermostat improvements These types of renovations are essential for reducing accidents, making daily tasks easier, and enabling seniors to live independently with dignity.

The Aging and Senior Assistance Helpline acts as a portal to various services offered by the Illinois Department on Aging, including inquiring about senior health insurance (Medicare-related questions), checking Benefit Access application status, and more. The line also accepts reports for the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, which investigates mistreatment and poor living conditions in long-term care facilities. This service is open to individuals age 18 or older who are either a current resident, a prospective resident, or a former resident of a long-term care facility.
