Hooked on Fishing is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides fishing opportunities for the community, with a focus on children, senior citizens, and special needs groups. All fishing is “catch and release." Equipment and bait is provided. Instruction includes- -Safety -The basics of using a rod and reel -Fishing techniques -Baiting a hook -Landing the catch -Handling the fish -Removing hooks -Fish identification Beyond the basics, teaching can cover fish biology, knot tying, fishing ethics, fishing techniques and good fishing sportsmanship. Hooked on Fishing is happy to work with teachers, scout masters, and group leaders to custom design instructional programs that meet their specific educational objectives. Because of the importance of artesian wells in supplying water to to Hooked on Fishing's ponds, instruction can also be provided on aquifers, artesian wells, and water quality issues. Enthusiastic volunteers are able to provide much one-on-one help, guidance, and instruction to novice anglers.

People who receive assistance from the Poverello Outreach ministry are hardworking men and women who are simply having a tough time making ends meet. Often they are working at two or three jobs or suffer from ill-health. They simply need a little bit of help, and Poverello Outreach strives to assist them.

If you are pregnant or have a child up to the age of one, and are on Medicaid, or part of a low-income family you may be eligible. The Family Case Management program can help you: -find a doctor for a healthy pregnancy or child care -understand the importance of a reproductive health plan -understand the importance of early and regular prenatal care -understand the importance regularly scheduled well child visits and immunizations -understand the stages of your child's development

The Greater Peoria Family YMCA offers a multi-purpose facility, immediately off of Willow Knolls Dr. Memberships include: group fitness classes, outdoor summer pool, group fitness classes, two full-sized basketball courts, and youth programs. The facility also offers child care and after school, school break, and various other programs that do not require a membership.

Caregiver Connections at Children's Home provides professional development for early childhood caregivers. Caregiver Connections provides consultation and education for early childhood educators and caregivers. Children's Home staff provide professional development, trainings, referrals, and mental health support to help equip centers with knowledge about how to handle children with questionable or concerning behaviors. The Illinois Department on Aging helps older adults live independently in their own homes and communities. The Department's Senior HelpLine provides information on a wide range of programs and services, and links individuals aged 60 and older and their caregivers to local resources and support services in their communities. Professional staff briefly assess needs, send literature, and write referrals for care coordination services, the Long-Term Care Ombudsman program, legal services, transportation, employment, and nutrition services. The line can also provide guidance on Medicare via its Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP).

The Living Room Program at Trillium Place Crisis Center, an affiliate of Carle Health, provides 24/7 walk in mental health services for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis. Services offered include support by certified recovery specialists, assistance with problem solving and goal settings, crisis intervention and safety planning, linkage to referrals, such as food, housing and healthcare services, and healthy refreshments. Proudly affiliated with Carle Health, Trillium Place is a not-for-profit organization originally formed in April 2019 by joining UnityPoint Health Behavioral Health Services, the Human Service Center, and Tazwood Center for Wellness. With locations in Peoria, East Peoria, Pekin, Lincoln, and Eureka, Trillium Place provides a comprehensive range of mental health and substance use disorder services.
