Provides one-time financial assistance grants (up to $2,500) to eligible active-duty service members, activated Guard or Reserve members, and their families who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship due to deployment, military-related injury, or service-related circumstances. Assistance may help cover basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, or other essential bills. Grants are paid directly to creditors and do not require repayment. Expenses Eligible for consideration of payment (daily necessities): *Housing expenses - mortgage, rent, repairs, and homeowners’ insurance (establishing residence/insurance or paying off expenses for a residence that is no longer being occupied will not be considered) *Vehicle expenses - payments, repairs, insurance (purchasing/paying off loan, major repairs for vehicles over 10 years old, registering, establishing insurance will not be considered) *Utilities (establishing/paying off utilities for a residence no longer being occupied will not be considered) *Childcare *Medical bills (the patient’s portion for necessary or emergency medical care only). Expenses Ineligible for consideration for payment: *Military debt/repayment, tuition assistance debt/repayment *Cable, internet, secondary phones *Taxes owed of any kind *Rentals of any kind (vehicle, furniture, and/or electronics) *Any other expenses not determined to be a "daily necessity" The eligible and ineligible expense lists are not all inclusive. Each case will be carefully reviewed for its own merits. All applications are individually reviewed, and the VFW reserves the right to make exceptions on a case by case basis.

Cordoba Healthcare works with local doctors, nurses, community volunteers, and students to provide a free specialty medical clinic model. Areas of specialization include cardiology, gastroenterology and liver, nephrology (kidney disease), pulmonary, basic dental services (depending on situation), and more. Cordoba collaborates with Heartland Health Services and local hospitals to receive referrals for specialty treatment, but also accepts self-referrals from patients. Please note that mental health services are not provided.

Good Beginnings is a prenatal and postpartum home visiting program that provides services and support to qualified first-time and second-time caregivers in Peoria and Tazewell counties. Good Beginnings program offerings include: -Community-based doulas provide labor support, education, postpartum care, and home visits to mothers in the program beginning at the third trimester through six weeks postpartum. -Home-Visiting Family Support Specialists provide activities, education, and resources to help you be the best caregiver you can be. -Prenatal classes are available for expectant birthing people and their partners to learn the best ways to keep everyone healthy during pregnancy. ----------------------------------------------------------- Additional exclusive programs for all enrolled Good Beginnings families include: -Spanish and English parent support groups provide additional resources to help caregivers create safe and stable home environments for children in their care

It also allows reporting of critical concerns, such as ICE activity (or assistance with locating someone in ICE custody) or Trust Act violations.

The HOPE Chest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that sells and sometimes donates furniture, appliances, and other household items. The organization also offers a food and pet pantry. Please note that the pantry is at 1416 N. 8th St.

Services include individual, group, and family therapy guided by a team of clinicians, activity therapists, nurses, and psychiatrists.

Blood Cancer United is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Services Include: *Information and referral related to blood cancer diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and survivorship *Patient and caregiver support, including one-on-one guidance from trained information specialists *Financial assistance programs for eligible patients to help with treatment-related expenses (availability and eligibility vary) *Educational resources, webinars, and support groups for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals *Advocacy and research funding focused on improving treatments and outcomes for people with blood cancers Services are provided at no cost and are available nationwide via phone and online.

Trillium Place provides comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder services. Mental health outpatient services include counseling, community-based services, and psychiatry. Substance use disorder programs include inpatient, outpatient, medication assisted treatment, and detoxification services. Children's Home is helping to keep families involved with DCFS through in-home counseling contracts. Family Based Intervention (FBI) provides individual and family therapy to children as young as two-years-old up through adults with trauma or mental health concerns who have an open case with Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and reside in Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford counties. The counseling services address individual concerns and family dynamics, crisis intervention, parent education, advocacy, and community outreach. The goals of the program are to keep families together who are still intact and to reunify families whose children are youth in care.
