The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation is a nonprofit serving people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). Callers receive personalized information about multiple sclerosis and connections to local and national resources related to MS. Service coordinators and peer counselors can talk through needs, answer questions, and help find the right support. Through the helpline, people with MS can also learn about and apply for a variety of support programs (eligibility usually requires an MS diagnosis), such as *Emergency Assistance Grant -- financial help for urgent needs like rent or utility bills (documentation required) *Healthcare Assistance Grant -- helps uninsured individuals pay for neurologist or dental visits *Homecare Assistance Grant – short-term homecare, caregiver respite, therapy services *Transportation Assistance Grant – funding for paratransit or rides to medical appointments (Lyft/Uber) and minor car repairs *Assistive Technology Program – info and partial funding for devices that aid daily living (e.g., canes, adaptive tech) *Computer Program – provides computers to help people with MS stay connected. *Cooling Program – cooling vests and accessories for heat sensitivity. In addition, the helpline can connect callers to peer counseling, advice on local support groups, and online communities.

JOLT Harm Reduction provides a variety of free services, including -Naloxone/Narcan and Overdose Prevention Kits and Training -Drug Checking (analysis of drugs to verify composition for more informed consumption and to avoid highly dangerous substances/adulterants) -Peer Recovery Navigation (exploring recovery options and offering support through the process) -Sexual Health & Testing (free and confidential testing for HIV/AIDS, Hep. Assistance may help cover basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, or other essential bills. Grants are paid directly to creditors and do not require repayment. Expenses Eligible for consideration of payment (daily necessities): *Housing expenses - mortgage, rent, repairs, and homeowners’ insurance (establishing residence/insurance or paying off expenses for a residence that is no longer being occupied will not be considered) *Vehicle expenses - payments, repairs, insurance (purchasing/paying off loan, major repairs for vehicles over 10 years old, registering, establishing insurance will not be considered) *Utilities (establishing/paying off utilities for a residence no longer being occupied will not be considered) *Childcare *Medical bills (the patient’s portion for necessary or emergency medical care only). The Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living (IVCIL) is a nonprofit service and advocacy organization that assists persons with disabilities in opening doors to their independence. IVCIL provides services for persons with disabilities, their families, and the community in Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam, and Stark counties.

Good Days offers medical assistance programs for people dealing with a variety of diseases: Copay Assistance Copays for treatments that can extend life and alleviate suffering Travel Assistance Transportation costs can be a significant barrier to treatment access. The Good Days Travel Assistance program pays for travel costs to ensure patients have access to the care they need. The specially-trained team of Care Navigators make all travel arrangements and stay in constant contact with the patient, physician and case manager throughout the course of the patient’s treatment. Travel assistance may include transportation by car or a variety of public transit options including Uber Health and Lyft for Healthcare. If a patient’s treatment requires an overnight stay, Good Days Care navigators will arrange flights, car rentals, and lodging as needed. By coordinating travel from start to finish, the Travel Assistance program ensures patients can easily adhere to important medical appointments. Premium Assistance Good Days offers the Premium Assistance Program for individuals who need help paying their monthly medical insurance premiums. Diagnostic Testing Assistance Many insurance plans do not cover diagnostic testing, which could be key in obtaining a proper diagnosis and/or appropriate treatment plan. Good Days can potentially offer financial assistance to cover the cost of diagnostic testing.
