Veterans and their loved ones can call 988 or 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Support for deaf and hard of hearing individuals is available. The responders at the Veterans Crisis Line are specially trained and experienced in helping Veterans of all ages and circumstances. Some of the responders are Veterans themselves.

Helpline services are free and confidential. Anyone can use the Helpline, whether the person is struggling with a substance use disorder or cares about someone who is. Trained Helpline Specialists answer questions, provide support, and connect the caller with services in Illinois. ---------------------------------------- The Illinois Helpline also offers medication on demand to IL residents seeking treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD). Medication-assisted recovery (MAR) involves the use of FDA-approved medications for treatment of OUD and AUD. Now an individual can speak directly with a provider over the phone, immediately receive a prescription or expedited, in-person appointment, and get transportation assistance to the pharmacy or clinic- all initiated through one phone call. Callers can access MAR NOW 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Care managers help callers determine their best treatment options and connect them to a provider for an immediate telephone appointment and medication prescription. Care coordinators can also facilitate a same- or next-day, in-person appointment. All callers are connected to ongoing treatment with a community provider that best meets their needs.

St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Minonk has a 24/7 food pantry at the top of the church ramp, on the east side of the church, available to residents of Minonk in need. Food, cleaning, hygiene items, and pet food are consistently stocked. In addition, St. Pat's has items for new mothers/infants, including diapers, wipes, water, formula, clothing, and blankets. The VFW National Home provides supportive services and stable housing for military and veteran families experiencing housing challenges. Families participate in a structured, three-phase program designed to promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Services include safe housing, educational support, veteran transition resources, employment and job-training assistance, and community-building programs. The National Home works with each family to develop individualized goals and provides ongoing case management to support their progress.

Core programs include- *Financial Stability Program The purpose of the Financial Stability program is to help participants to increase their revenue while decreasing their expenses, thus helping them to improve their quality of life. Completely free. *La Familia La Familia Program that strives to restore dignity and protect our local Latino community by providing culturally responsive and healing support across the lifespan, from children to seniors. *S.T.E.A.M.S Academy An after-school program for K-8th graders that focuses on increasing learning potential with a concentration on one-on-one tutoring, enrichment activities and service learning opportunities. Peoria Friendship House works in tandem with various organizations to provide aid to juvenile offenders via referral sources such as the Peoria Police Department Station Adjustments, Peoria Public Schools discipline referrals, and Peoria County Probation Informal Supervision.

Peoria Jobs Partnership is a Christian mentoring program for people who might be experiencing problems getting gainful employment. For the general public, there is the Community Program. The curriculum includes 12 classes, taught by different community professionals over a 12-week period. Students are required to complete homework for each class, and are awarded a certificate of completion at the end of the program. The Community Program allows students access to great instructor/ practitioners, and allows them contacts with community leaders that can act as advocates for them when they seek employment. Additional programs, such as Solar Training and the Fresh Start Workshop, are offered for individuals with a felony in their background and those re-entering society from incarceration. Community Needs Agency in Chillicothe is an all-volunteer resource center that serves residents of Illinois Valley Central School District 321 (Chillicothe, Rome, Mossville area). All programs and services are income-based. A couple of service clarifications: -Emergency food can be provided as available to clients by appointment only. -One aspect of energy assistance is LIHEAP application assistance, offered by appointment only for clients.

The Peoria Humane Society offers programs to further their mission of ending animal cruelty and neglect. Not only does the PHS fund programs including low-cost spay/neuter services; humane education; volunteer programs; veterinary care to sick, injured, and abused animals; and community awareness; the organization also provides equipment, supplies, and volunteers to PCAPS to benefit the thousands of homeless and unwanted animals in the community. Family Connects is a free postpartum home visiting program available to any family who resides in Peoria County.
