Age Central is a private, not for profit service agency serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, family caregivers, and grandparents raising grandchildren. One of 13 Area Agencies on Aging in Illinois and one of over 728 in the United States, CIAA is authorized by the Older Americans Act of 1965 as amended, Illinois Act on Aging, and the Illinois Department on Aging to provide services in Fulton, Marshall, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, Woodford counties.

Tazewell-Woodford Head Start is a federally funded program that empowers families and promotes school readiness in preschool aged children. Tazewell-Woodford Head Start serves approximately 234 families in the surrounding communities. Our teachers follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and Illinois Learning Standards. They also work with surrounding school districts and agencies to serve individual needs. The National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) provides career services, training, youth services, housing, and financial assistance to eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFW) and their dependents who reside in Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. This program helps farmworkers and their dependents acquire the necessary skills to either stabilize their current employment or advance in their agricultural jobs. Additionally, individuals may obtain employment in locally high-demand industries with the goal of gaining higher wages and year-round employment. UMOS case managers work with clients to assess what their strengths are currently, how they wish to develop professionally, where they can best get the vocational training, and then provide the financial support to ensure clients accomplish these goals.

Peoria Jobs Partnership is a Christian mentoring program for people who might be experiencing problems getting gainful employment. For the general public, there is the Community Program. The curriculum includes 12 classes, taught by different community professionals over a 12-week period. Students are required to complete homework for each class, and are awarded a certificate of completion at the end of the program. The Community Program allows students access to great instructor/ practitioners, and allows them contacts with community leaders that can act as advocates for them when they seek employment. Additional programs, such as Solar Training and the Fresh Start Workshop, are offered for individuals with a felony in their background and those re-entering society from incarceration. The Children's Home Association of Illinois offers 24-hour crisis intervention services for youth, ages 10 to 17, in Peoria County who have runaway, been "locked out" by a parent, or who refuse to return home after coming in contact with law enforcement. Parents may call to make a referral for youth who have experienced similar problems but who have not yet come in contact with law enforcement. The program works to preserve or reunify the living situation. Services are available for up to three months and may include crisis counseling, mediation, short-term placement, individual/family/group counseling, recreation, skill building, advocacy and linkage to other services.
