The Woodford County Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) is operated by and for U.S. veterans. VAC officers work with veterans and dependents to determine their entitled benefits and file claims with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. VAC officers guide applicants through the entire process and fight to ensure a fair review of all claims. The Veterans Assistance Commission's programs are considered emergency and interim financial assistance programs and should not be considered as an ongoing financial supportive program. All assistance provided by the VAC is predicated on an established standard of need as set forth by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). It is not the intent of either the Commission or the County to provide assistance either less than or in excess of the levels of assistance adopted by IDHS.

As a result, they support each other to pursue their goals and unite the school community for long-term change. *Peoria Peacekeepers The Peoria Peacekeepers Network is a referral program established by the Peoria Friendship House that focuses on using a restorative justice approach to provide juvenile offenders who have admitted to committing certain eligible offenses, misdemeanors, or felony. Juvenile offenders are given the opportunity to make restitution, connect with the community, and receive needed services and support. Peoria Friendship House works in tandem with various organizations to provide aid to juvenile offenders via referral sources such as the Peoria Police Department Station Adjustments, Peoria Public Schools discipline referrals, and Peoria County Probation Informal Supervision.

Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) is a 24/7 community-based program that provides an emergency assessment to children experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Youth who have no insurance coverage or who have Medicaid are assessed during a crisis to determine if community services can be utilized to avoid hospitalization. Children’s Home provides this life-saving service to Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties. If psychiatric hospitalization is deemed necessary, MCR facilitates a connection to the appropriate in-patient unit. All children screened and served in the program are referred through the CARES line at 1-800-345-9049 and routed to a 24-hour on-call system.

The Peoria County Family Justice Center offers a multi-disciplinary response team designed to provide services and support to victims of domestic violence, while simultaneously holding offenders accountable. The Peoria County Family Justice Center is a secure location which provides a play area for children to use, while being watched over, as clients meet with personnel. Boys & Girls Clubs Families 2000 is a "Parent as Teachers" affiliate. The program is focused on preparing children age newborn to three for the academic system through family empowerment strategies such as enhancing parenting skills, counseling, home visitation, healthy living skills guidance, developmental screening, and creative activities to empower families to manage everyday life changes. There are no fees associated with participation in this program.

Women's Care Center is faith-based organization that offers free, confidential counseling, support, and education to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Services include confirmation of pregnancy and ultrasounds, but the center does not provide ongoing prenatal care or abortions. In addition to the listed services, the Women's Care Center offers the following program: Crib Club/BABE The Crib Club/BABE program provides cribs, diapers, clothing and other baby items under an incentive system that rewards participation in parenting classes, prenatal care and other programs.
