LIHEAP provides energy assistance for eligible low income families in which a benefit is paid directly to the utility companies on behalf of eligible households, or directly to renters if the utility costs are included in their rent. The benefit amount will be credited to the households primary winter heating source (gas vs. electric). 4-H is the youth development program of University of Illinois Extension, offering hands-on learning experiences for young people ages 8 to 18 ("Cloverbud" clubs available for ages 5 to 7). The program helps youth build life skills, leadership abilities, and career readiness through activities in science, technology, agriculture, health, civic engagement, and the arts. Participants can join local 4-H community clubs, take part in short-term “SPIN” clubs, enroll in project areas, or attend workshops, camps, and statewide events. DUI evaluations and related services are also available at this location.
