Since 1983, Freedom House has provided a safe and free haven for victims of domestic and sexual violence and their children. It serves the residents of Bureau, Henry, Marshall, Putnam, and Stark Counties in Illinois and is supported by public, corporate, and private funds.
In addition to shelter services, Freedom House provides domestic and sexual violence prevention programs, prevention programs for grade school and high school students, medical and legal advocacy, and volunteer support.

-Trillium (goal planning; as well as assistance or referrals for medical, dental, vision, substance use, Medicaid, housing, and Disability): Monday through Thursday each week, times vary

The goal of the Brightpoint Crisis Nursery program is to provide overburdened parents with facilitated breaks, crisis counseling, stress reduction therapy, family stability, and positive parenting education. The Crisis Nursery offers supportive services that link parents and caregivers to community resources to help them cope and problem-solve.
Services are free to anyone in need; and the nursery is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

The Harold J. Rust Transitional Center is a shelter for families and women (there is more limited space for single men) working towards independence. The facility allows The Salvation Army to provide shelter, meals, and case management services to help the adult identify and work on the underlying causes of his or her homelessness.

Dream Center Peoria offers a 24/7 emergency shelter that includes snacks, showers, a bed to sleep in, breakfast, lunch, dinner, job readiness assistance, case management services, and storage (not for furniture). Phones can be utilized for job interviews.
Day services also include showers and cooling/warming center availability for their eligible population (single women; mothers with children; single fathers with children; couples with and without children; and other family units) even if they are not staying at the Dream Center.
