The Center for Youth and Family Solutions offers New Day Senior Outreach Services to individuals age 60 and older in Peoria, Tazewell, and Fulton counties. This program consists of providing information on how to get needed services and benefits, assisting in accessing these programs when necessary, and then following up with the senior.

Washington Township sponsors a car ride taxi service in cooperation with TDK Event Services for mobile senior residents age 62 and over who live in and are traveling within Washington Township's 61571 zip code area, or are traveling from this area to a medical appointment in Peoria, East Peoria, or Morton. When calling, please identify yourself as a 62+ Ride Requester.

CityLink paratransit service is a "safety net" for only those individuals who do not have the functional capability to use the fixed-route system.

Shirette's In Home Care offers a variety of services, including meal preparation, hygiene and grooming assistance, light house cleaning, transportation to and from medical facilities or shopping, and medication supervision. Also offered are respite care to provide caregivers a break, and 24/7 multiple shift care.

For example, a disabled individual or a senior might call about a ride to an appointment and Comfort Keepers could make this possible by seeing if the person would like to have his or laundry done, which would involve them for non-medical in-home assistance and allow them to provide the transportation.

The Veterans Assistance program is an emergency and interim financial assistance program and should not be considered to be an ongoing financial supportive program. All assistance provided by the VACPC is predicated on an established standard of need as set forth by IDHS. It is not the intent of either the Commission or the County to provide assistance either less than or in excess of the levels of assistance adopted by IDHS. The following assistance is given upon qualification: *Food Orders and Personal Items: Depending on size of family. *Utilities and Fuel: Utility payments will be made, providing the applicant qualifies in other respects. No deposits or past due bills will be paid to the utility company. *Rent Payments: This Veterans Assistance office does not pay security deposits, back rents, or home finding fees. Rents shall not be paid to relatives unless it is a separate rental dwelling. *Transportation: The VA will provide Transportation for the veteran to the local Veterans Medical Center by the least expensive means when necessary.

The New Day Senior Services In-Home Counseling and Friendly Visitor programs are offered for seniors age 60 years and older in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Stark, and Fulton counties so that they can continue to live in their own residence and improve their quality of life. New Day Senior Services also provides training in the community on mental health issues to seniors and other professionals who work with older adults.

The purpose of the Miller Center is to serve the needs and interests of older adults (age 50+) in Pekin. The Miller Center offers transportation, activities, and serves as a central information and referral center. Age Central is a private, not for profit service agency serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, family caregivers, and grandparents raising grandchildren. One of 13 Area Agencies on Aging in Illinois and one of over 728 in the United States, CIAA is authorized by the Older Americans Act of 1965 as amended, Illinois Act on Aging, and the Illinois Department on Aging to provide services in Fulton, Marshall, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, Woodford counties.

Henry County Public Transportation provides demand response (transportation by appointment), curb to curb service throughout Henry, Stark, and Western Bureau Counties. The service also travels to: -Illinois side of the Quad Cities every Tuesday -Princeton the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month -Galesburg the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month -Peoria every Thursday The vehicle arrives at these further destinations by 10:30 A.M. and departs to come back no later than 1:15 P.M. It was established in 1975 as a not for profit charitable corporation governed by an eleven member board of volunteer directors. The objective of We Care, is to provide services that help individuals maintain independence and to improve the quality of life for those in need. As our citizens enjoy longer lives than ever before, the needs in later years become more diverse. Families are not always available to fulfill these needs; care then falls to the community through support services. During the last 40 years, their organization has been a valued source of assistance to the members of our community by providing support services for the elderly, disabled, and those in need.

MSW Projects provides door-to-door NON-EMERGENCY transportation services for the residents of Marshall and Stark counties to areas within and outside of those counties (including Peoria, Bloomington, Galesburg, and Streator). Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance if possible.

Mercy Medical Angels provides free, non-emergency transportation assistance for patients who must travel long distances for medically necessary care. Transportation may be provided by volunteer pilots, commercial flights, or ground transportation, depending on availability. Services are not immediate and require advance application and eligibility screening. Assistance is not guaranteed and is subject to volunteer and funding availability. Appropriate for individuals traveling to specialized medical appointments when local or insurance-based transportation options are unavailable. Use only after local transportation options (Medicaid, public transit, local nonprofits, hospital programs) have been explored.
