Peoria Jobs Partnership is a Christian mentoring program for people who might be experiencing problems getting gainful employment.
For the general public, there is the Community Program. The curriculum includes 12 classes, taught by different community professionals over a 12-week period.
Students are required to complete homework for each class, and are awarded a certificate of completion at the end of the program. The Community Program allows students access to great instructor/ practitioners, and allows them contacts with community leaders that can act as advocates for them when they seek employment.
Additional programs, such as Solar Training and the Fresh Start Workshop, are offered for individuals with a felony in their background and those re-entering society from incarceration. Solar Training is also offered for individuals raised in foster care.

Job Ready Illinois is an online workforce development program that has been approved by the State of Illinois as a "work program" for the purposes of SNAP Work Requirements. It was created through a collaboration of the State of Illinois, workforce foundations, Forefront/Innovation Nexus and Cook County. In the future it will help with Medicaid work requirements, too.
*It has unlimited capacity, so any Illinois resident that is struggling to meet work requirements and is therefore at risk of losing their SNAP Benefits can enroll online and use the program to stay SNAP eligible.
*It is flexible in the number of "work requirement hours" it can provide, so if someone has hours through something else like volunteering, but will struggle to get to 80 hours in a month, Job Ready Illinois can be used to get them the hours they need.
