The fire stations also serve as cooling centers during extreme heat and warming centers during extreme cold spells. Cooling and Warming Center Details: All Peoria Fire Department Fire Stations are open to the public every day of the week as cooling/warming centers from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 pm, but persons seeking help can go to any Fire Station at any time. It's important to note that if the crew is sent on a call, anyone using the station as a cooling or warming center will have to temporarily leave during that time.
