Dental Lifeline Network (formerly the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped) is a national humanitarian organization providing access to comprehensive dental services for people with disabilities or who are elderly (determined by office) or medically at-risk. Dental Lifeline Network provides these services through a national network of direct service programs that involve 15,000 volunteer dentists and 3,200 volunteer labs. Typically, the patient will not receive treatment the same day that he or she applies, so this is not the best option for a dental emergency.

Helpline specialists are available to assist individuals with MS, and the people close to them, adapt to the changes they may be experiencing as they go through a life-long process of adjustments to best suit their evolving needs. MSAA’s specialists can offer encouragement to clients and their care partners to identify obstacles and discover ways to overcome them. Helpline specialists may also recommend the program(s) offered by MSAA and other resources that would be of help to the client, and assist him or her with the application process.

Parallel to this concept lies the organizational structure of Oxford House, Inc. This publicly supported, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation is the umbrella organization which provides the network connecting all Oxford Houses and allocates resources to duplicate the Oxford House concept where needs arise. The number of residents in a House may range from six to fifteen; there are houses for men, houses for women, and houses which accept women with children, as well as men with children. The Harold J. Rust Transitional Center is a shelter for families and women (there is more limited space for single men) working towards independence. Peoria Jobs Partnership is a Christian mentoring program for people who might be experiencing problems getting gainful employment. For the general public, there is the Community Program. The curriculum includes 12 classes, taught by different community professionals over a 12-week period. Students are required to complete homework for each class, and are awarded a certificate of completion at the end of the program. The Community Program allows students access to great instructor/ practitioners, and allows them contacts with community leaders that can act as advocates for them when they seek employment. Additional programs, such as Solar Training and the Fresh Start Workshop, are offered for individuals with a felony in their background and those re-entering society from incarceration.
