The Center for Prevention of Abuse is the only agency in the State of Illinois to provide combined services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, and elder/disabled adult abuse. The Center also reaches students age pre-K through college with violence prevention education, as well as abusers with an abuser re-education program.

Trillium Place on Rochelle, an affiliate of Carle Health, is a medication assisted treatment program for opioid use disorders. Services include outpatient medication assisted treatment (methadone and buprenorphine) and outpatient counseling. The Healthier Homes Initiative is a no-cost program providing eligible Ameren Illinois residential customers with home upgrades and minor repairs to improve safety, comfort, indoor air quality and overall home health. Eligible customers may receive energy efficiency improvements to their home such as air sealing, insulation, lighting replacement, ventilation and moisture control measures, and other safety measures. Upgrades and minor repairs are based on an assessment conducted by qualified contractors.

Prairie State Legal Services offers free legal services for low income persons and those over 60 who have serious civil legal problems and need legal help to solve them. -------------------------- The Victims Legal Advice line may be able to address the following areas for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault: -Questions related to housing safety, the Safe Homes Act, breaking a lease -Questions concerning emergency protective orders -Advice for victims who fled to Illinois with their children from another state. -Questions about visitation rights for abusers. -Questions about victims’ rights within the criminal court process -Questions about special protections for victims abused by fellow students. -Advice concerning legal options for victims of sexual assault or stalking

The Mackinaw Police Department serves the village in numerous ways. Among these, it participates in Project Childsafe, which offers gun locks free of charge for safety in the home. Anyone interested in obtaining gun locks may call the department during normal business hours. The department also has a medication disposal drop box in front of its facility.

The George Washington Carver Center offers community outreach and improvement programs in the areas of fine arts and humanities, recreation, education, preventive care, and family.

The Division of Rehabilitation Services is the state's lead agency serving individuals with disabilities. DRS works in partnership with people with disabilities and their families to assist them in making informed choices to achieve full community participation through employment, education, and independent living opportunities.

The Greater Peoria Family YMCA offers a multi-purpose facility, immediately off of Willow Knolls Dr. Memberships include: group fitness classes, outdoor summer pool, group fitness classes, two full-sized basketball courts, and youth programs. The facility also offers child care and after school, school break, and various other programs that do not require a membership.

The Hotline offers callers: -Phone or text access to professional counselors -Real-time support and information -Response within a few minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week -Resources -Referrals to local and telehealth providers and support groups -Culturally sensitive support -Counselors who speak English and Spanish -Interpreter services in 60 languages

The Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service offers a food pantry Monday through Friday.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Peoria builds homes throughout Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, and Marshall counties for families earning between 30%-60% of the area median income. The home is sold at no profit through a no-interest mortgage. Families volunteer their labor to help build Habitat homes, including the one they will eventually purchase.

The Illinois Speech- Language- Hearing Association serves as a source for the public in all matters related to delays, disorders and difference of speech, language, hearing, feeding and swallowing.

Positive Health Solutions provides a wide variety of services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ+ population, as well as certain outreach/prevention programs for the general public*.
