HOPE Fair Housing Center provides information regarding fair housing rights and responsibilities, as well as advocacy. If HOPE finds that the caller is in a housing situation that might involve discrimination, a staff member will conduct an investigation. If the housing matter does not involve discrimination, HOPE can provide the caller with helpful referrals. HOPE's complaint & investigative services are FREE OF CHARGE for everyone who needs assistance. As of fall 2025, Tazwood Community Services, Inc. administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Peoria County. ======================================================== 2025-26 LIHEAP Energy Assistance Program Tazwood Community Services continues to set appointments, as they become available, for 2025-26 LIHEAP Energy Assistance, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-Noon & 1-4 p.m. Online scheduling is available at www.tazwoodcs.org/appointments If there are no appointments available when visiting the scheduling system, that means they are filled up for the full 60 days ahead at that time. IF IN A CRISIS SITUATION, SUCH AS PENDING DISCONNECTION OR ALREADY BEING DISCONNECTED , IT IS RECOMMENDED TO STILL CALL ANYWAY, EVEN IF NO APPOINTMENTS ARE LISTED ONLINE. PLEASE NOTE THAT FURNACE ASSISTANCE IS A SEPARATE PROGRAM, SO YOU SHOULD GO AHEAD AND CHECK WITH TAZWOOD, REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS LISTED ONLINE. There can be thousands of customers calling on a given day, and Tazwood has around 20 staff answering the phones and scheduling appointments. The Restaurant Employee Relief Fund is a program of the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (IRAEF) that offers emergency assistance to Illinois food and beverage workers facing an unanticipated hardship within the past 90 days such as: accident, illness, injury, death of an immediate family member, or natural disaster. If you are in need of assistance, please complete the online application form. All grant requests will be reviewed. The IRAEF Restaurant Employee Relief Fund grants are awarded to eligible individuals based on available funds and limited to one per individual. Grants cover costs of living expenses for life-altering events and range from $250-$3,000.

The owner must contribute to their pet's treatment or surgery. -PAi needs a written estimate from the veterinarian.
