The Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living (IVCIL) is a nonprofit service and advocacy organization that assists persons with disabilities in opening doors to their independence. IVCIL provides services for persons with disabilities, their families, and the community in Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam, and Stark counties.

The Stark County Good Samaritan Fund accepts applications from working families in the area that have needs beyond their means to pay. The Fund provides stop gap assistance to get them back on their feet and can potentially assist with a variety of services. About one third of all funds will be used to pay utility bills. Another one third will pay for housing, rent or mortgage payments. The final third will end up going for everything from medical services, to car mufflers. The aim is to keep the people in their present homes, to keep their car working so they can get to work, and to get them needed medical attention so that they can work. The Fund has a board that determines who qualifies for help and how much help can be provided. The board also governs all other aspects of the organization.

Skills and Support for Parents and Caregivers of Children Ages 0–17. The Parenting Plus Program is a 12-week class designed for parents, foster parents, grandparents, guardians, and childcare providers who are seeking support in managing common parenting challenges. The program is appropriate for anyone raising children, including those involved with DCFS, the court system, or probation services.

The Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) provides cash benefits for eligible needy refugees and special immigrants for a time period set by the federal government based on available federal funding. Additional assistance in resettling might be available.

Trillium Place East Peoria, an affiliate of Carle Health, provides assessments and outpatient services for mental health and substance use disorders for adults and adolescents. DUI evaluations and related services are also available at this location. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) helps Illinois students afford college by providing financial aid (grants, scholarships, waivers, loan programs), offering free college and financial planning guidance, and administering programs like the Monetary Award Program (MAP) and the College Illinois! prepaid tuition plan, all to make higher education accessible and manageable.

Central Illinois Service Access (CISA) provides information, assessment, and referral services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. This can include assistance with accessing group homes and other supports.

Resource Link offers guidance on finding mental health care providers, including those outside of the OSF network, who serve children and adolescents. This service is open to the general public. The program also offers mental health training to physicians and staff, physician to physician consultation, and care coordination.

The American Heart Association provides public education and advocacy focused on heart and blood pressure health in a variety of ways, including through CPR & first aid training, healthy lifestyle information, community organization partnerships & grants (e.g., food pantry storage capacity for nutritional items), and science-based treatment guidelines for healthcare professionals.

Carle Health - Trillium Place Crisis Services - Peoria County (ERS) assists individuals in Peoria County experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder related crisis. Balanced offers general counseling services.

It is our goal to promote, coordinate and direct a comprehensive emergency management program which addresses mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery relative to disaster and major emergencies.

Putnam County Community Center offers medicaid information and counseling.

Children's Home is helping to keep families involved with DCFS through in-home counseling contracts. Family Based Intervention (FBI) provides individual and family therapy to children as young as two-years-old up through adults with trauma or mental health concerns who have an open case with Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and reside in Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford counties. The counseling services address individual concerns and family dynamics, crisis intervention, parent education, advocacy, and community outreach. The goals of the program are to keep families together who are still intact and to reunify families whose children are youth in care. Advocates for Access is a center for independent living, empowering and providing services to people living with disabilities in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, and Fulton counties. ================================= Please note that for more complex durable medical equipment (DME) such as Hospital Beds, Lift Chairs etc., Advocates for Access connects customers who need them to those who have them to give and/or provides the guidance to get one from their provider. The same goes for blind mobility aids and related items.

OSF Behavioral Health Navigation Link can assist the public in connecting to services for mental health and substance (drug or alcohol) abuse, even outside of the OSF network.

The Center for Prevention of Abuse is the only agency in the State of Illinois to provide combined services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, and elder/disabled adult abuse. The Center also reaches students age pre-K through college with violence prevention education, as well as abusers with an abuser re-education program.

Carle Health Methodist Hospital offers outpatient behavioral health services at its Methodist location for children, adolescents, adults, and families on Medicaid.

Washington Police Department offers medication Disposal.

Mackinaw Township Office offers general relief to qualifying residents.

The Bureau, Putnam, & Marshall County Health Departments work to protect the health of the citizens of their counties through education, collaboration, and public service.

The Illinois Adult Learning Hotline provides referral services for students, volunteers, and employers wishing to access adult education and literacy and programs throughout Illinois.

JOLT Harm Reduction provides a variety of free services, including -Naloxone/Narcan and Overdose Prevention Kits and Training -Drug Checking (analysis of drugs to verify composition for more informed consumption and to avoid highly dangerous substances/adulterants) -Peer Recovery Navigation (exploring recovery options and offering support through the process) -Sexual Health & Testing (free and confidential testing for HIV/AIDS, Hep. C, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphillis. The Red Cross offers courses for personal safety and swimming for all ages, safety in small water craft, and courses leading to lifeguard certification.
