Peoria County Triad is a safety organization that focuses on reducing crime victimization of seniors. This is a combined effort between the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, Peoria Police Department, and other agencies in the community that work in senior services. The areas of concern covered include identity theft, scams, personal safety, home safety, and elder abuse.

Helpline services are free and confidential. Anyone can use the Helpline, whether the person is struggling with a substance use disorder or cares about someone who is. Trained Helpline Specialists answer questions, provide support, and connect the caller with services in Illinois. ---------------------------------------- The Illinois Helpline also offers medication on demand to IL residents seeking treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD). Medication-assisted recovery (MAR) involves the use of FDA-approved medications for treatment of OUD and AUD. Now an individual can speak directly with a provider over the phone, immediately receive a prescription or expedited, in-person appointment, and get transportation assistance to the pharmacy or clinic- all initiated through one phone call. Callers can access MAR NOW 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Care managers help callers determine their best treatment options and connect them to a provider for an immediate telephone appointment and medication prescription. Care coordinators can also facilitate a same- or next-day, in-person appointment. All callers are connected to ongoing treatment with a community provider that best meets their needs.

The HOPE Chest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that sells and sometimes donates furniture, appliances, and other household items. The organization also offers a food and pet pantry. Please note that the pantry is at 1416 N. 8th St.

The goal of the Woodford County Health Department is to protect the public's health through disease prevention, healthy lifestyle promotion, food safety oversight, limited environmental testing, and other services.

The Restaurant Employee Relief Fund is a program of the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (IRAEF) that offers emergency assistance to Illinois food and beverage workers facing an unanticipated hardship within the past 90 days such as: accident, illness, injury, death of an immediate family member, or natural disaster. If you are in need of assistance, please complete the online application form. All grant requests will be reviewed. The IRAEF Restaurant Employee Relief Fund grants are awarded to eligible individuals based on available funds and limited to one per individual. Grants cover costs of living expenses for life-altering events and range from $250-$3,000.

The Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition is a group of organizations who advocate and potentially provide financial or other assistance for those affected by cancer. Please note that this is an online resource only, and most programs listed are extremely limited in their capabilities.

The Brightpoint Doula Program offers positive, persistent outreach services and in-home coaching to help parents learn about pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.

Dream Factory of Central Illinois is a wish foundation for critically and chronically ill children from the ages of three through eighteen.

The Pekin Police Department serves the city of Pekin. -------------------------------------------- During extreme temperatures, the Police Department lobby serves as a cooling or warming center daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Canton Township Office offers emergency assistance for eligible residents. Emergency Assistance consists of a one-time payment for eviction notices and power/water shut offs. The maximum grant for this program is up to $500. The person/household will have to apply for township general assistance first; and if they do not qualify, they will then be screened for emergency assistance. The household's monthly income must be BELOW $700.

The East Peoria Fire Department has a free smoke alarm and installation program for East Peoria homeowners in financial need. Recipients must be East Peoria residents and the owner of the home. Landlords are not eligible for the program. Those who qualify should call 309-698-4700 and select Option 3. Note: The fire department offers only smoke detectors, not carbon monoxide detectors or combination smoke-carbon monoxide detectors.

Psychiatric Assistance with Central Illinois FRIENDS offers transitional psychiatric care to clients as they go through the process of getting established with a primary psychiatric provider. Features of the transitional psychiatric care program include psychiatric assessments, medication management, an affirming care team who are specialized in supporting the needs of the LGBTQI+ community, and an easy referral process that reduces wait times for clients. Care is free with insurance enrollment options available.

Those in need may receive free smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors from the fire department. The fire stations also serve as cooling centers during extreme heat and warming centers during extreme cold spells. Cooling and Warming Center Details: All Peoria Fire Department Fire Stations are open to the public every day of the week as cooling/warming centers from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 pm, but persons seeking help can go to any Fire Station at any time. It's important to note that if the crew is sent on a call, anyone using the station as a cooling or warming center will have to temporarily leave during that time.
