Children's Home is helping to keep families involved with DCFS through in-home counseling contracts. Family Based Intervention (FBI) provides individual and family therapy to children as young as two-years-old up through adults with trauma or mental health concerns who have an open case with Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and reside in Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford counties. The counseling services address individual concerns and family dynamics, crisis intervention, parent education, advocacy, and community outreach. The goals of the program are to keep families together who are still intact and to reunify families whose children are youth in care. The OSF Care-A-Van focuses on the under-served areas of Peoria, providing free healthcare services that include blood pressure screenings, doctor consultations, nurse visits, exercise consults, dietician consults, health education, insurance consults, linkage with a primary care doctor, discussion of general health concerns, and spiritual support. The program can be accessed without an appointment, on a first come, first serve basis. All services are free of charge.

As of fall 2025, Tazwood Community Services, Inc. administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Peoria County. ======================================================== 2025-26 LIHEAP Energy Assistance Program Tazwood Community Services continues to set appointments, as they become available, for 2025-26 LIHEAP Energy Assistance, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-Noon & 1-4 p.m. Online scheduling is available at www.tazwoodcs.org/appointments If there are no appointments available when visiting the scheduling system, that means they are filled up for the full 60 days ahead at that time. IF IN A CRISIS SITUATION, SUCH AS PENDING DISCONNECTION OR ALREADY BEING DISCONNECTED , IT IS RECOMMENDED TO STILL CALL ANYWAY, EVEN IF NO APPOINTMENTS ARE LISTED ONLINE. PLEASE NOTE THAT FURNACE ASSISTANCE IS A SEPARATE PROGRAM, SO YOU SHOULD GO AHEAD AND CHECK WITH TAZWOOD, REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS LISTED ONLINE. In addition, customers can either call or go to their local office, but this is ONLY to schedule an appointment. When calling into the office, you might get a recorded message stating that the phones are disconnected, the number cannot be completed as dialed, all circuits are busy, etc. The type of message you receive varies based on your phone carrier. Unless Tazwood makes a post on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064748766860) the phones ARE working. There can be thousands of customers calling on a given day, and Tazwood has around 20 staff answering the phones and scheduling appointments. It is important to remember that LIHEAP runs from October 1, 2025 - August 15, 2026, or until funding is exhausted. When you enter the parking lot follow it to the BACK of the building. Tazwood LIHEAP is located on the 2nd floor. You will enter through the back entrance where there are stairs and an elevator. The Legal Self-Help Center does not provide legal advice to its patrons. Instead, it offers legal information to customers on such topics as instructions for available forms, answers to general legal questions, and information on court procedures. ========================== B. Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee of the Public Interest Law Initiative's (PILI) Self-Represented Litigant Help Desk The Help Desk is staffed virtually by pro bono attorneys who provide brief advice referrals, and limited scope representation to eligible self-represented litigants for approximately 30 minutes per litigant at designated areas in the Peoria and Tazewell County Courthouses. To be eligible for assistance, the self-represented litigant must meet the following criteria: -The litigant must be proceeding in the matter for which they are seeking assistance on a self­-represented basis and not be receiving the assistance of an attorney in the matter; -The litigant’s household must be within 200% of federal poverty guidelines; and -The litigant must not have received assistance through the Help Desk previously on this matter.
Trillium Place Access Center, an affiliate of Carle Health, provides information and linkage to Trillium Place mental health and substance use programs and services located in Central Illinois. Trillium Place provides comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder services. Mental health outpatient services include counseling, community-based services, and psychiatry. Substance use disorder programs include inpatient, outpatient, medication assisted treatment, and detoxification services.
