Through the helpline, people with MS can also learn about and apply for a variety of support programs (eligibility usually requires an MS diagnosis), such as *Emergency Assistance Grant -- financial help for urgent needs like rent or utility bills (documentation required) *Healthcare Assistance Grant -- helps uninsured individuals pay for neurologist or dental visits *Homecare Assistance Grant – short-term homecare, caregiver respite, therapy services *Transportation Assistance Grant – funding for paratransit or rides to medical appointments (Lyft/Uber) and minor car repairs *Assistive Technology Program – info and partial funding for devices that aid daily living (e.g., canes, adaptive tech) *Computer Program – provides computers to help people with MS stay connected. *Cooling Program – cooling vests and accessories for heat sensitivity. HealthWell cannot assist uninsured patients who need help paying the full cost of their treatment. The Stark County Good Samaritan Fund accepts applications from working families in the area that have needs beyond their means to pay. The Fund provides stop gap assistance to get them back on their feet and can potentially assist with a variety of services. About one third of all funds will be used to pay utility bills. Another one third will pay for housing, rent or mortgage payments. The final third will end up going for everything from medical services, to car mufflers. The aim is to keep the people in their present homes, to keep their car working so they can get to work, and to get them needed medical attention so that they can work. The Fund has a board that determines who qualifies for help and how much help can be provided. The board also governs all other aspects of the organization.

Early Learning For All (ELFA) is a part of Peoria Regional Office of Education and encompasses programming and services for ages prenatal through five. ELFA's two main programs, Preschool For All and Home Visiting, are both funded through the Illinois State Board of Education's Early Childhood Block Grant. ELFA supports families from all over the county and has no district residency requirements. Preschool for All has locations at St. Paul Baptist Church in Peoria, and at Hollis Grade School and Oak Grove School in Bartonville. These locations are all full day (8:15-3:15) Home Visiting focuses on partnering, facilitating, and reflecting with families while working to develop children's motor, language, intellectual, and social-emotional skills.

Job Ready Illinois is an online workforce development program that has been approved by the State of Illinois as a "work program" for the purposes of SNAP Work Requirements. It was created through a collaboration of the State of Illinois, workforce foundations, Forefront/Innovation Nexus and Cook County. In the future it will help with Medicaid work requirements, too. *It has unlimited capacity, so any Illinois resident that is struggling to meet work requirements and is therefore at risk of losing their SNAP Benefits can enroll online and use the program to stay SNAP eligible. *It is flexible in the number of "work requirement hours" it can provide, so if someone has hours through something else like volunteering, but will struggle to get to 80 hours in a month, Job Ready Illinois can be used to get them the hours they need.
