Volunteers are only available to provide brief and one-time advice and information. They are not able to provide representation in court for the legal matter. The help desk is not able to assist with matters involving domestic violence, or on emergency petitions or orders.

Job Ready Illinois is an online workforce development program that has been approved by the State of Illinois as a "work program" for the purposes of SNAP Work Requirements. It was created through a collaboration of the State of Illinois, workforce foundations, Forefront/Innovation Nexus and Cook County. In the future it will help with Medicaid work requirements, too. *It has unlimited capacity, so any Illinois resident that is struggling to meet work requirements and is therefore at risk of losing their SNAP Benefits can enroll online and use the program to stay SNAP eligible. *It is flexible in the number of "work requirement hours" it can provide, so if someone has hours through something else like volunteering, but will struggle to get to 80 hours in a month, Job Ready Illinois can be used to get them the hours they need.
