The Share Closet is a community resale store carrying a variety of clothing, kitchen supplies, furniture, decor, toys, books, and much more. The Share Closet also collects medical supplies, bedding, kitchen, and baby supplies to give to those in need. The site operates as a thrift store but provides certificates for individuals who cannot afford needed items.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) helps Illinois students afford college by providing financial aid (grants, scholarships, waivers, loan programs), offering free college and financial planning guidance, and administering programs like the Monetary Award Program (MAP) and the College Illinois! prepaid tuition plan, all to make higher education accessible and manageable.

Henry & Stark County Health Department offers medication disposal.

The Fulton County Health Department serves as a site for the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program for Fulton, McDonough, and Schuyler counties. The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program offers free mammograms, breast exams, pelvic exams and Pap tests to eligible women. Even if a woman has already been diagnosed with cancer, she may receive free treatment through the program if she qualifies.

Associates in Mental Health, SC offers individual counseling.

The VFW National Home provides supportive services and stable housing for military and veteran families experiencing housing challenges. Families participate in a structured, three-phase program designed to promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Services include safe housing, educational support, veteran transition resources, employment and job-training assistance, and community-building programs. The National Home works with each family to develop individualized goals and provides ongoing case management to support their progress.

Tazwood Community Services, Inc. is the community action agency now serving Peoria County, in addition to Tazewell and Woodford counties.

Southside Community Center focuses on youth leadership and enrichment, parent support and education, and additional assistance ministries.

Putnam County Community Center offers tax preparation assistance.

The HOPE Chest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that sells and sometimes donates furniture, appliances, and other household items. The organization also offers a food and pet pantry. Please note that the pantry is at 1416 N. 8th St.

The Children’s Hospital of Illinois was officially established as a pediatric hospital within the walls of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in 1990. It is is a 136-bed, full service facility with more than 115 pediatric specialists representing more than 40 pediatric sub-specialties.

Family Connects is a free postpartum home visiting program available to any family who resides in Peoria County. The Aid to the Aged, Blind, or Disabled (AABD) cash assistance program is available through the Illinois Department of Human Services. This program provides a limited amount of financial assistance monthly.

YSB team offers out-patient mental health therapy and treatment by highly qualified therapists trained in child and family centered intervention. We treat anxiety, depression, loss, teen issues, divorce, issues around blended families, abuse and neglect, anger management, and more. Services include individual, marital, and family counseling.

ACM Care is a non-profit organization that serves as a Case Coordination Unit for the Community Care Program, contracted by the Illinois Department on Aging, for the City of Peoria, Tazewell County, Woodford County, Marshall County, and Stark County. ACM will initially provide a care coordinator to visit the home and conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine the needs of the person. The coordinator will then work with the person and family members to the link the person with needed services and resources. These can include in-home services, adult day care, home delivered or congregate meals, transportation options, assistive devices, and more.

The St. Andre Bessette Kitchen serves free brown bagged lunches to anyone in need. No appointment or ID necessary.

Whiteside County Community Health Clinic provides primary and preventative medical, dental (including oral surgery), and behavioral health care with no boundaries.

Grain and Guidance NFP provides meals to underserved neighborhoods in East Peoria and Washington via a partnership with local Masonic lodges and their mobile relief unit.
