The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Bradley University (OLLI) is an organization of over 1000 Peoria-area residents, from age 50 to 98, who want to stay vital and active as they reach and enjoy retirement. One way to do that is to keep learning, so they participate in the many programs of OLLI that include educational travel, classes, lectures, cinema events, and study groups.

Positive Health Solutions provides a wide variety of services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ+ population, as well as certain outreach/prevention programs for the general public*. Core programs include- *Financial Stability Program The purpose of the Financial Stability program is to help participants to increase their revenue while decreasing their expenses, thus helping them to improve their quality of life. This is a case management program that provides financial, credit and employment education, training, coaching and mentorship while providing basic needs like food, clothing, transportation, healthcare, and hygiene products. *Citizenship Classes Includes assistance with application process & Individual Attention/Support. Completely free. *La Familia La Familia Program that strives to restore dignity and protect our local Latino community by providing culturally responsive and healing support across the lifespan, from children to seniors. *S.T.E.A.M.S Academy An after-school program for K-8th graders that focuses on increasing learning potential with a concentration on one-on-one tutoring, enrichment activities and service learning opportunities. It features the S.T.E.A.M.S curriculum, which includes First Lego League, allowing children to research, design, and build Lego Robot. The goal is that the children grow to love learning and look beyond simply passing their school courses, but dream to excel far beyond. When school is out for the summer, there is an eight-week Summer Camp program focusing on leadership development that provides four consecutive 2-week camp themes with an enriching diverse program in a fun and safe environment. The children learn about healthy living, giving back to one's community through service learning, and social and emotional well-being. *Pathway to YOUR Future Designed specifically to prepare, teach, and support high school students' transition into adulthood. The goal is to be able to provide high school students with resources to develop life skills and different course certification opportunities to increase post-grad jobs right out of high school. *Parent Mentor Program Parent Mentors volunteer in classrooms for 2 hours/day for at least 100 hours. The Parent Mentors are supported by weekly training on classroom instructional practices and leadership training. As a result, they support each other to pursue their goals and unite the school community for long-term change. *Peoria Peacekeepers The Peoria Peacekeepers Network is a referral program established by the Peoria Friendship House that focuses on using a restorative justice approach to provide juvenile offenders who have admitted to committing certain eligible offenses, misdemeanors, or felony. Juvenile offenders are given the opportunity to make restitution, connect with the community, and receive needed services and support. Peoria Friendship House works in tandem with various organizations to provide aid to juvenile offenders via referral sources such as the Peoria Police Department Station Adjustments, Peoria Public Schools discipline referrals, and Peoria County Probation Informal Supervision.

The Salvation Army is an international movement and an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. It offers numerous assistance programs for those in need. ------------------ 2026 Warming & Cooling Center Information: Open as a warming or cooling center during extreme temperatures. The Salvation Army's building is at 243 Derby St. in Pekin, and The Pekin Outreach Initiative is housed on the East Side of this building. The Pekin Outreach Initiative portion is open from 11am-4pm, Monday through Sunday, for people to drop in and warm up/cool off. The Salvation Army shelter in the gym at the same location is open overnight 5pm-10:30am, Monday through Sunday, for warming or cooling. Usually limited to 10-15 people at most for this purpose.

One of the focuses of the Illinois Respite Coalition (IRC) is supporting a safety net for caregivers in crisis. The IRC has Emergency Respite funding stipends for caregivers across Illinois in a planned or unplanned emergency. This program provides funding so caregivers can pay for services they choose. Crisis situations that may qualify for the Emergency Respite Program include, but are not limited to the following circumstances: -Caregiver illness (physical, mental, and/or emotional) -Caregiver hospitalization or doctor appointments -Illness of a loved one -Funeral or wake -Drug or alcohol abuse counseling or support -Care recipient transitions (i.e. living arrangements) -Loss of employment or work related situations -Declining Mental Health

The Woodford County Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) is operated by and for U.S. veterans. VAC officers work with veterans and dependents to determine their entitled benefits and file claims with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. VAC officers guide applicants through the entire process and fight to ensure a fair review of all claims. The Veterans Assistance Commission's programs are considered emergency and interim financial assistance programs and should not be considered as an ongoing financial supportive program. All assistance provided by the VAC is predicated on an established standard of need as set forth by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). It is not the intent of either the Commission or the County to provide assistance either less than or in excess of the levels of assistance adopted by IDHS.
