Children's Home is helping to keep families involved with DCFS through in-home counseling contracts. Family Based Intervention (FBI) provides individual and family therapy to children as young as two-years-old up through adults with trauma or mental health concerns who have an open case with Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and reside in Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford counties. The counseling services address individual concerns and family dynamics, crisis intervention, parent education, advocacy, and community outreach. The goals of the program are to keep families together who are still intact and to reunify families whose children are youth in care. We Care, a division of TCRC Inc., is the only non-profit organization of its kind in our community and even the county. It was established in 1975 as a not for profit charitable corporation governed by an eleven member board of volunteer directors. The objective of We Care, is to provide services that help individuals maintain independence and to improve the quality of life for those in need. As our citizens enjoy longer lives than ever before, the needs in later years become more diverse. Families are not always available to fulfill these needs; care then falls to the community through support services. During the last 40 years, their organization has been a valued source of assistance to the members of our community by providing support services for the elderly, disabled, and those in need.

The Emergency Management Agency was created to combine all Emergency Preparedness Programs including Civil Defense. By state law the Emergency Management Agency is a required County Department. The purpose of Emergency Management Agency is to mitigate potential hazards, plan for, coordinate, respond to and aid in recovery from all disaster situations whether natural or man-made. Woodford County Emergency Management Agency (WEMA) provides disaster response coordination for all unincorporated areas of Woodford County and coordinates between the State of Illinois and any incorporated area of the county during disaster events.

The Men's Residential Center is a Christian homeless shelter for men that, in addition to a place to sleep, offers nutritious meals, chapel services, clean clothes, showers, and case management services. Please note that this site was formerly known as the Peoria Rescue Mission.

Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service provides limited free lawn care to seniors, those who are disabled, single mothers, and veterans who do not have the time, resources and/or money to take care of their yards. Please note that this service is not guaranteed and is entirely dependent on the availability of student volunteers in a given area.

The Living Room Program at Trillium Place Crisis Center, an affiliate of Carle Health, provides 24/7 walk in mental health services for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis. Services offered include support by certified recovery specialists, assistance with problem solving and goal settings, crisis intervention and safety planning, linkage to referrals, such as food, housing and healthcare services, and healthy refreshments. Proudly affiliated with Carle Health, Trillium Place is a not-for-profit organization originally formed in April 2019 by joining UnityPoint Health Behavioral Health Services, the Human Service Center, and Tazwood Center for Wellness. With locations in Peoria, East Peoria, Pekin, Lincoln, and Eureka, Trillium Place provides a comprehensive range of mental health and substance use disorder services.

MSW Projects provides door-to-door NON-EMERGENCY transportation services for the residents of Marshall and Stark counties to areas within and outside of those counties (including Peoria, Bloomington, Galesburg, and Streator). Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance if possible.

This site houses two services/programs: A. Tazewell County Legal Self-Help Center Provides information to Tazewell County residents about their legal rights and responsibilities, instructions on how to handle common legal problems, assistance with some legal documents and forms, and referrals to free and low-cost legal services. The Legal Self-Help Center does not provide legal advice to its patrons. Instead, it offers legal information to customers on such topics as instructions for available forms, answers to general legal questions, and information on court procedures. ========================== B. Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee of the Public Interest Law Initiative's (PILI) Self-Represented Litigant Help Desk The Help Desk is staffed virtually by pro bono attorneys who provide brief advice referrals, and limited scope representation to eligible self-represented litigants for approximately 30 minutes per litigant at designated areas in the Peoria and Tazewell County Courthouses. To be eligible for assistance, the self-represented litigant must meet the following criteria: -The litigant must be proceeding in the matter for which they are seeking assistance on a self­-represented basis and not be receiving the assistance of an attorney in the matter; -The litigant’s household must be within 200% of federal poverty guidelines; and -The litigant must not have received assistance through the Help Desk previously on this matter.

The New Day Senior Services In-Home Counseling and Friendly Visitor programs are offered for seniors age 60 years and older in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Stark, and Fulton counties so that they can continue to live in their own residence and improve their quality of life. New Day Senior Services also provides training in the community on mental health issues to seniors and other professionals who work with older adults.

The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs is a state agency dedicated to empowering veterans, as well as their dependents and survivors. The agency helps veterans navigate the complex veteran support system and assists them in obtaining benefits; provides long term health care for eligible veterans at five Veterans’ Homes; and works with other government agencies and non-profits to help veterans address education, mental health, housing, employment, and other challenges.
