For qualifying township residents, the Elm Grove Township Office provides occasional emergency assistance (rent or utility assistance to people who have encountered an unforeseen situation) and general assistance/relief (small monthly stipend to those who are not receiving other public benefit income--for example--SSI, SSDI, other Social Security and are unable to work). The Graham Health System mental/behavioral health care staff includes Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP), a Licensed Clinical Practice Counselor (LCPC), and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). These professionals provide support to adults, teens, and children seeking diagnosis, short or long-term treatment (including medication, when appropriate), and management of mental and emotional health challenges. Services are offered, by appointment, at the Canton, Elmwood, Farmington, Macomb, and Lewistown locations.

The Center for Senior Behavioral Health at Carle Health Proctor Hospital is an inpatient specialty unit for adults ages 65 and older in need of care for emotional or behavioral concerns. Services include individual, group, and family therapy guided by a team of clinicians, activity therapists, nurses, and psychiatrists.
