Assistance can include help navigating the criminal justice system, victims’ rights, compensation options, and community-based victim services. In addition, MADD can assist in locating Victim Impact Panels, which are educational programs where victims or survivors share personal stories about the consequences of impaired driving. These are typically court-ordered for individuals convicted of DUI/DWI offenses, but may also be attended voluntarily. They are offered in many communities and sometimes available online, depending on location.
