As our community give back each spring AGSF plants their Freedom Garden. All produce is distributed to local veterans through American Legions, AmVets, Navy/Marine Club, VFW, Veterans Pub and Pizza and to homeless veterans through the Salvation Army. National outreach for America’s Gold Star Families includes our Children’s Greeting Card Program. We send birthday cards along with a $20 gift card to over 500 children of the fallen across the USA. AGSF partnered with the Sgt. Anthony R. Maddox Memorial to host the first Fallen Heroes Tree of Honor erected in the Illinois State Capitol, Springfield, Illinois. Families of the fallen from across the USA can visit our website and click on the Ornament Registration tab. This information will enable us to craft an ornament in honor of your hero.

Helpline services are free and confidential. Anyone can use the Helpline, whether the person is struggling with a substance use disorder or cares about someone who is. Trained Helpline Specialists answer questions, provide support, and connect the caller with services in Illinois. ---------------------------------------- The Illinois Helpline also offers medication on demand to IL residents seeking treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD). Medication-assisted recovery (MAR) involves the use of FDA-approved medications for treatment of OUD and AUD. Now an individual can speak directly with a provider over the phone, immediately receive a prescription or expedited, in-person appointment, and get transportation assistance to the pharmacy or clinic- all initiated through one phone call. Callers can access MAR NOW 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Care managers help callers determine their best treatment options and connect them to a provider for an immediate telephone appointment and medication prescription. Care coordinators can also facilitate a same- or next-day, in-person appointment. All callers are connected to ongoing treatment with a community provider that best meets their needs.
