The Division of Rehabilitation Services is the state's lead agency serving individuals with disabilities. DRS works in partnership with people with disabilities and their families to assist them in making informed choices to achieve full community participation through employment, education, and independent living opportunities.

Brightside Recovery in provides comprehensive treatment services to address the underlying causes of addiction alongside the physical symptoms. In addition to in-person services, Brightside offers completely remote treatment via telehealth, providing drug screens, medication delivery, and virtual counseling. Treatment programs include those focusing on fentanyl, heroin, and Kratom (70H) addiction, as well as transitioning off of methadone. Medication-assisted treatments (MAT) available include Suboxone, Sublocade, Vivitrol, and Brixadi.

Provides one-time financial assistance grants (up to $2,500) to eligible active-duty service members, activated Guard or Reserve members, and their families who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship due to deployment, military-related injury, or service-related circumstances. Assistance may help cover basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, or other essential bills. Grants are paid directly to creditors and do not require repayment. Expenses Eligible for consideration of payment (daily necessities): *Housing expenses - mortgage, rent, repairs, and homeowners’ insurance (establishing residence/insurance or paying off expenses for a residence that is no longer being occupied will not be considered) *Vehicle expenses - payments, repairs, insurance (purchasing/paying off loan, major repairs for vehicles over 10 years old, registering, establishing insurance will not be considered) *Utilities (establishing/paying off utilities for a residence no longer being occupied will not be considered) *Childcare *Medical bills (the patient’s portion for necessary or emergency medical care only). Expenses Ineligible for consideration for payment: *Military debt/repayment, tuition assistance debt/repayment *Cable, internet, secondary phones *Taxes owed of any kind *Rentals of any kind (vehicle, furniture, and/or electronics) *Any other expenses not determined to be a "daily necessity" The eligible and ineligible expense lists are not all inclusive. Each case will be carefully reviewed for its own merits. All applications are individually reviewed, and the VFW reserves the right to make exceptions on a case by case basis.

OSF Illinois Neurological Institute provides evaluation, treatment, and ongoing care for a wide range of neurological conditions. Services include specialized clinics for concussion, brain tumors, epilepsy, headaches, memory disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular conditions, neuro-ophthalmology, balance and vestibular disorders, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, pediatric neurosurgery, sleep disorders, spine care, and stroke. The institute also offers physical medicine and rehabilitation to support recovery and long-term management.

The Lions of Illinois Foundation is occasionally able to assist Illinois residents in need of eye glasses and/or hearing aids.

Akron Township Office offers general relief fund to their residents.

The Illinois School for the Deaf offers comprehensive assessment, enrichment, intervention, and educational services for school-age residents of Illinois who are deaf and hard of hearing.

The Health & Wellness Connection of Fulton County (HWCFC) is a care management facility that works closely with Graham Health System to provide qualified individuals with low or no cost health services. Individuals who need assistance with things like medications, diabetic & other medical supplies, vision and dental care, and transportation for medical care may qualify for financial assistance. Individuals who do not qualify may seek assistance for referrals to other appropriate organizations.

The Family Advocacy Center provides of case management, mentoring, intensive parent coaching, and overall guidance for families navigating the child welfare system or otherwise in need of support. The Center also offers anger management for adults. Occasionally, one-day sessions are available for teens.

The Fulton County Health Department offers a variety of public health services. Also, there is a Free Overdose Prevention Vending Machine located just inside the front doors, available during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Addus offers in-home health and in-home care services. In-home care services include- Bathing Dressing Grooming Meal preparation Housekeeping Errands/transportation Medication reminders Supportive services can be arranged for any frequency of time, from one to twenty-four hours of care daily, or on a respite or temporary basis.

Hand Up Peoria offers a food pantry twice per month (2nd & 4th Thursday, usually), as well as a hygiene item pantry (2nd & 4th Wednesday, usually). Thursday pantry items include food, meat, some refrigerated items and fruits as available, and bread. Wednesday hygiene items include incontinence supplies, feminine hygiene items, baby needs (diapers & wipes, primarily), and other hygiene products.

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for: -People who are 65 or older -Certain younger people with disabilities -People with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD) The different parts of Medicare help cover specific services: -Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care. -Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) Part B covers certain doctors' services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services. -Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage) Helps cover the cost of prescription drugs (including many recommended shots or vaccines).

Molina Healthcare offers referrals to dental practitioners accepting Medicaid.

The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation is a nonprofit serving people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). Callers receive personalized information about multiple sclerosis and connections to local and national resources related to MS. Service coordinators and peer counselors can talk through needs, answer questions, and help find the right support. Through the helpline, people with MS can also learn about and apply for a variety of support programs (eligibility usually requires an MS diagnosis), such as *Emergency Assistance Grant -- financial help for urgent needs like rent or utility bills (documentation required) *Healthcare Assistance Grant -- helps uninsured individuals pay for neurologist or dental visits *Homecare Assistance Grant – short-term homecare, caregiver respite, therapy services *Transportation Assistance Grant – funding for paratransit or rides to medical appointments (Lyft/Uber) and minor car repairs *Assistive Technology Program – info and partial funding for devices that aid daily living (e.g., canes, adaptive tech) *Computer Program – provides computers to help people with MS stay connected. *Cooling Program – cooling vests and accessories for heat sensitivity. In addition, the helpline can connect callers to peer counseling, advice on local support groups, and online communities.

Southside Community Center focuses on youth leadership and enrichment, parent support and education, and additional assistance ministries.

The MECA Center of Peoria and Product of the Project offer the Community Food Pantry on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing a wide selection of fresh and non-perishable food items.

Ameren Illinois residential customers who meet the requirements of an income-eligible customer will have deposits for new service and late payment charges waived. -------------------------------- For existing deposits: If you meet the eligibility requirements and have an existing deposit, your deposit will be canceled and then either applied to the balance or refunded. The deposit will first be applied to any outstanding balance on your account. If there are any remaining funds, they will automatically be returned to you by check. If your account is current, the deposit will automatically be returned to you by check.
