The Arc of Illinois offers the Assistive Technology Program for persons with intellectual/ developmental disabilities who have received an evaluation/assessment from a qualified provider but the assistive technology purchase is not subsidized by Medicaid, Medicare, or private insurance. Participants can join local 4-H community clubs, take part in short-term “SPIN” clubs, enroll in project areas, or attend workshops, camps, and statewide events. Adult volunteers provide mentorship, and youth work on projects that develop problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and responsibility. 4-H welcomes young people from all backgrounds and interests--rural, suburban, and urban--and supports positive youth development through experiential learning, leadership opportunities, and community involvement.

Dream Center Peoria offers a 24/7 emergency shelter that includes snacks, showers, a bed to sleep in, breakfast, lunch, dinner, job readiness assistance, case management services, and storage (not for furniture). Phones can be utilized for job interviews. Day services also include showers and cooling/warming center availability for their eligible population (single women; mothers with children; single fathers with children; couples with and without children; and other family units) even if they are not staying at the Dream Center.
