PACE is a Medicare and Medicaid risk-based care program that offers comprehensive, team-based medical and social services for seniors through collaborating health care agencies, allowing older older adults to age at home (as opposed to entering a nursing facility). The TCRC Sight Center in Morton, Illinois provides innovative services for the blind and visually impaired. The Center helps patients remain independent and self-sufficient through low vision optometric assessments, mobility services, specialized computer technology, community rehabilitation, optical aids and devices, and other support services.

Pets for Seniors is an organization that matches cats and dogs from animal control facilities with senior citizens who might need a little help with the responsibilities of pet ownership. Our Pets For Saving program is open to all ages.

Wigs for Kids provides free hair replacement systems to children experiencing significant hair loss due to a medical condition like cancer, alopecia, or trichotillomania.

A program for children in state custody who are unable to remain safely in their home. Children in foster care stay with a family who provides safety, nurturing, support and role models for change. Foster care is meant to be a temporary, short term solution to an emergency situation. Foster placement may be for a single day or several weeks and some continue for years. (Available in 20 counties)

First United Methodist Church offers blood pressure and blood sugar testing twice a month.

RX Assist tracks patient assistance programs, which are set up by drug companies to offer free or low cost medications to individuals who cannot otherwise afford them. Most brand name drugs are found in these programs.

New Life Fellowship Church offers a food pantry in honor of East Peoria Police Officer Tara Beeney on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Handout begins at 10:30 a.m. This takes place at 1014 Derby St in Pekin. The Clothing Pantry is at a different time and location: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 515 S. 3rd St in Pekin (Tara Beeney Blessing Room)

Hand Up Peoria offers a food pantry twice per month (2nd & 4th Thursday, usually), as well as a hygiene item pantry (2nd & 4th Wednesday, usually). Thursday pantry items include food, meat, some refrigerated items and fruits as available, and bread. Wednesday hygiene items include incontinence supplies, feminine hygiene items, baby needs (diapers & wipes, primarily), and other hygiene products.

Maple Lawn provides income-based apartments for seniors 55 and over AS WELL AS individuals 18 or older with a disability. Two people can reside in a one-bedroom unit, just the head of household must be either at least 55 years of age and/or disabled (must be a minimum of 18 years of age if disabled).

The Canton Township Office offers general assistance/relief programs for eligible residents. General Relief/Assistance is monthly assistance for rent, utilities, and vouchers for food/personal essentials. It is a needs-based program, and the maximum monthly grant is $325. The Canton Township office contracts to administer General Assistance to the following townships in Fulton County (in addition to Canton): Astoria, Banner, Bernadotte, Cass, Deerfield, Fairview, Farmers, Farmington, Harris, Isabel, Joshua, Kerton, Lewistown, Liverpool, Orion, Pleasant, Union, Vermont, Waterford, and Woodland. Also covers the following Peoria County townships: Timber Township, Trivoli Township, Elmwood Township

The Fulton County Health Department administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for the county. LIHEAP provides energy assistance for eligible low income families in which a benefit is paid directly to the utility companies on behalf of eligible households, or directly to renters if the utility costs are included in their rent. The benefit amount will be credited to the households primary winter heating source (gas vs. electric). The program can also occasionally assist with emergency furnace repair/replacement. ================================= 2025-26 LIHEAP LIHEAP runs October 1, 2025 to August 15, 2026, or until funding is exhausted.
